I get asked every now and then by friends and family what kinda work I do. While the majority of it is motion capture clean up and camera work (although I have had the joy of doing some motion capture directing lately) every now and then I get a project where I get to do some actual animating. Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 was one of those projects. While it didn’t rate very well, or sell very well, the cinematics at least got an honourable mention in every review I’ve seen so far, even the translated ones. What you see is a small snippet of work I did for the project alongside my role as Motion Lead. There’s no sound, due to the fact that I will eventually be placing this into my personal reel with some form of music over the top. I hope this answers the “what do I do at work?” question I get so often.
